Our society and world are changing rapidly. Changes in the broader culture present challenges to the local church, which impact how the church reaches out to its neighborhood and to the world. In entities like the local church, often with a storied history and long-held traditions, adjustment happens slowly and sometimes painfully. In our swiftly changing world, how does a church adapt its internal culture to mobilize their people to reach their community and the world? How do we build a mobilization culture?
At the Northern California Mission Leaders Conference this October Rev. Steve Harling and JJ Harling will speak on how cultural change can take place in churches. They will talk about the challenges to face and lessons to learn. They will also remind us of the benefits of living mobilized for Kingdom work. Steve and JJ are a dynamic pair that bring a depth of experience in reshaping a church.
Achieving real change that lasts requires the whole church leadership team to be on board. We have found that when church teams attend the conference together, they are better prepared and equipped to move forward in implementing change at home because they have had time together at the conference to process and plan. This helps the whole church leadership team work together as a united front to change their church culture.
In addition to your church leadership team, we invite you to bring potential cross-cultural workers from your congregation to attend the conference as guests of WorldVenture. During the conference, these guests will have access to mission coaching by WorldVenture mobilizers.
Silver Spur Conference Center, located in Tuolumne, California, provides a great venue for conference participants to learn, share with others, and relax in a peaceful, natural environment. Spouses are welcome to attend at a reduced rate ($170/person).
Register today! Early registration ends September 20; prices increase by $25 after that date. An individual registration is $195. When a team of 3 or more attend from the same church, the price is reduced to $170/person. Meals and lodging are included in the registration cost. Potential workers may attend for free alongside one or more leaders from their church; these workers must still register as attendees, but will not be charged a registration fee.
