PROJECT

6417-932-Wheelchairs of Hope

Wheelchairs are so common to us, it is hard to imagine that there are people who don't have access to even a rudimentary chair. In fact, the World Health Organization estimates 20 million people in developing countries need wheelchairs. Wheelchairs of Hope refurbishes and distributes used chairs to those in need in various Asian countries. At the same time, unused equipment is used for Kingdom purpose instead of ending up in a landfill.

PROBLEM
For many, wheelchairs are unaffordable and may cost more than a full year's salary. Lacking mobility, those with disabilities are isolated from their communities and in many cases confined to their homes.

VISION
This project will use wheelchairs as a means to open doors to show Christ's love in reaching those who still don't have and still don't know.

STRATEGY
Funds are used in purchasing parts, equipment repairs, travel, shipping, storage, and brochure printing and distribution.
