Pioneer Church Planter
Work as a pioneer church planter either in an urban center or in a rural town, in select places across the Philippines, with a goal of establishing a strategic center where multiple church plants could take place. This would be a traditional church focused on reaching the middle class or the influencers in that community.
Experience in evangelism; some theological education; some church planting background or experience; ability to train/coach national church planters would be great; a people person with strong relational skills.RESPONSIBILITIES
Create redemptive relationships through meeting felt and real needs. Start evangelistic Bible studies & discipleship. Establish a strong, strategic center church. Develop Filipino leadership that can start daughter churches. Coach Filipino church planters as church planting takes place in a specific province or region.LANGUAGE NEEDS
Ability in the local language to converse, teach, and preferably preach. English can be used to a certain degree in the larger cities, but the ministry will be greatly enhanced if the local language is learned. Language learning will be the primary taskLANGUAGE USED
Main languages in the Philippines are Tagalog, Cebuano, & English. Depending on location, one may learn Ilonggo, Ilocano, or Waray-Waray.LIVING ENVIRONMENT
If living in a larger city, it is a typical modern, progressive third-world city with lots of malls, internationals, medical facilities, and modern conveniences, but also with lots of traffic and pollution and urban poor. If living more in a provincial setting, the ability to get along with fewer American conveniences is needed.WORKING ENVIRONMENT
