(Education)

TEE Educator

Work with a local TEE program. The Middle East in the 21st Century has over 40 evangelical, orthodox and catholic centers for training full-time and part-time leaders for the churches. WorldVenture is looking for women and men who will be theological educators who are able to relate to a dynamic atmosphere of inter-cultural, inter-religious, inter-denominational and international education. Theological educators in the region are always engaged in learning in this rapidly changing atmosphere of hope and struggle. WorldVenture theological educators need to have finished their basic academic work before coming to the Middle East. The minimum foundation for successful ministry in this atmosphere is a Th.M. or equivalent. This is the research degree that usually follows a M.Div. degree. Ph.D. holders are preferred. If a person comes with a Th.M. only, they need to be aware that it will be necessary to earn a PhD. during their first ten years of ministry from an approved and accredited academic institution. All of this is necessary because the 21st century Middle East evangelical theological educator must be able to teach students at all degree levels in how to do research that will contribute to the development of churches in multiple contexts of the Middle East. A WorldVenture theological educator will need to develop a foundation for Arabic reading, writing and speaking early in their time in Jordan or Lebanon. The level of Arabic skill will vary based on personality and other factors. While language is important, educators who relate well to the culture, even though they may not be fluent in Arabic, will find acceptance in Middle Eastern communities. Placement with one or more theological institutions in the Middle East will occur after the person has settled into the life, culture, and rhythms of the Middle East, or after about two years. Ph.D. holders from all the fields of study of theological education will likely find part-time or full-time placement. Through the Middle East Association for Theological Education, www.meate.org, WorldVenture personnel are able to learn about teaching opportunities in the Middle East and Northern Africa. Currently, we are looking for a cohort of 5 theological educators with Ph.D.s who could be integrated into the theological education opportunities of the Middle East and Northern Africa. Educators may be asked to participate as team members for: teaching courses in traditional ways, creating hybrid curriculum for face-to-face and web-based learning, conducting research, and mentoring students as ministers, researchers and disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. House Mom for Girls' Home

Safe Haven Home for Girls is a home for abused and disadvantaged girls in Beirut, Lebanon. It began as a ministry of Ras Beirut Baptist Church under the Safe Haven Society in 2007. We currently have twelve girls between the ages of 5 and 13 living at Safe Haven. Some of them have experienced severe sexual abuse, many of them physical abuse, and they all know personally the pangs of hunger. Since coming to Safe Haven we have seen tremendous growth in each of the girls – physically, emotionally, academically and spiritually. Our three main goals are (1) to provide the girls with the food, shelter, clothing, medical care and education that they had no access to before coming to Safe Haven, (2) to teach them Biblical values and principles that will shape their character and guide them for the future, and (3) to be a blessing to their immediate families – most of whom are followers of Islam – by sharing the love of Christ with them. Ultimately our goal is that each of the girls and their families would come to know Christ as her personal Savior. We are in need of a house mom to serve at Safe Haven. (Family and Medicine)

Elementary School Teacher for MK's

Madagascar is a field that is ripe to expand but the lack of an American based education program can often be a deterring factor to young families. Currently there is one family seeking the gifting of a teacher. They have three young children, preschool - early grade school. For more information: see their website at www.redislandrestoration.com Start date: February 2018. (Education)

English Teacher for English Club and Seminary

English was declared a national language of Madagascar in 2007. However the majority of the Malagasy people don't speak or understand English despite the great desire and need. Currently a WorldVenture missionary teaches an English club several times a week for young people in her community, however she will retire in the near future. Therefore we're looking for an individual who has a desire to carry on this great ministry. Second, CEFOI, a Seminary that WorldVenture works with, desires an English teacher for their students, as well as their professors and staff members. English is vital as Madagascar lacks quality study books and other resources in the Malagasy language. CEFOI stands for Centre Evangelique De Formation De L’Ocean Indien. It is a bible school built in 1991 in order to respond to many young Christians’ wish to get evangelical and theological training in Madagascar. The school is under the umbrella of CEIM (Communaute Evangelique Independante de Madagascar). It’s main purpose is to train people to become mature leaders who will in turn train others in their own Christian churches/associations. To date, 300 students have graduated from CEFOI Seminary and most are now pastors or leaders in Christian organizations throughout the island. (Education)

Partner with community development workers and organizations. (Science and Agriculture)

Anti-Human Trafficking Worker

Work with missionaries Brent & Chris Ralston in the Metro Cebu area of the Philippines providing after-care to ladies coming out of human trafficking. Currently the focus is on spiritual aspects and economic aspects (job skills training & job creation). This could be expanded to working with children, focusing on prevention, and ministering to the whole family. Partnership is done with International Justice Mission so we are not involved in the rescues and legal work. At the current time, this would not be a full-time ministry, but would be coupled with ministry in a local church as well. (Government)

Church Planter

Work with a team of Filiipino church planters and volunteers. Ability to train national church planters would be great. (Church Outreach)

Community Development Specialist or Intern

Thousands of foreign students from least-evangelized nations are studying in Philippine universities. We envision them returning to their home countries as new believers who are adequately discipled to express and live out their new faith in Christ. Local believers need training in cultural sensitivity and ministry methods appropriate for international students in order to present the gospel in such a way that the students will understand and receive it. Personnel are needed to start or play a major role in starting an International Student Ministry network. Workers will cooperate with local church leaders in developing strategies for linking international students in the Philippines with local believers, and inspire and coach church members for developing authentic relationships with foreign students. They will look for ways to cooperate with local universities to provide various kinds of assistance such as hospitality, housing, cultural transition coaching, English tutoring, etc. in order to create opportunities for Christian witness. (Church Outreach)
