WorldVenture History in China
The first WorldVenture party of ten reached Shanghai the last day of 1946. Bennie and Dorothy Benson and Ruth Mayo went to the city of Ganxian, Jiangsi, to operate an orphanage, and the remaining seven went to western China, to be joined by eleven others. The ultimate goal of the China ministry was to reach the 1.5 million Nosu people in the mountains. The mission for which these missionaries had gone to China was not accomplished due to the domination of the Communist government. Today, WorldVenture has international staff fulfilling the Great Commission in a country that is stretching and uncomfortable for any believer in Christ.
