Church Development and Leadership Training in Austria
Nathan and Bethany’s ministry focus is serving in the local church and training leaders amongst the German speaking population in the Vienna area. They are partnering with an Austrian-led church association and serving in an area where there is very little gospel-preaching witness and a growing population. Nate and Bethany also serve as WorldVenture Team Austria field leaders, assisting the team with decision-making, cultural integration and spiritual leadership.
Gifted with speaking and teaching abilities, Nathan is passionate about knowing God’s Word on a deeper level, preaching His Word in churches and training/mentoring Austrian Christians to be leaders and teachers themselves. He also exercises his gifts by leading small group bible studies, leading worship and supporting church leaders in congregations that are often small and lacking in resources. Administration and shepherding are Bethany’s gifts. She has a passion for planning and organizing and also enjoys music ministry. The Johnsons also use hospitality as a ministry tool to build relationships and share the love of Christ.
Nate and Bethany live in the Vienna area with their children Penny, Ellie, and Maya. They offer internships for college-aged individuals and are looking to expand their team of long-term workers in Austria.
You can get involved now by praying for the Johnsons:
• For their former church plant, Crosslight, which they helped to launch in 2021 and continues to worship and do outreach on the northern side of Vienna.
• For discernment as they shift from church planting ministry to ministry in a local congregation to focus on preaching, teaching and training.
• For the Johnsons, as they seek to build relationships in their neighborhood and share the gospel with non-believing friends and neighbors.
