Job Summary:

Live among and work with new believers whose backgrounds might forbid them to openly embrace their faith. Facilitate development of house churches.

Responsibilities:

Come alongside new believers to disciple them and assist them in developing a means of fellowshipping and encouraging one another without isolating themselves from their own cultural group. Mombasa’s rich cultural heritage includes Africans, Indians, Arabs and Europeans. Although an Islamic atmosphere predominates, there is a large African Christian population and all communities from the Indian sub-continent are represented. An openness to spiritual things exists and although Christianity might be seen as a threat to some, Jesus is not.

Requirements:

Male. Married. Biblical education and missiological training sufficient so that one knows how to go about working with secret believers or believers who should remain culturally relevant in order to be salt and light in their own communities. Possess a real love for culturally different people and willingness to meet them in their world. Self starter.
