Ethnomusicologist	Mali \| Africa

Job Summary:

Help accelerate the growth of the church among a least evangelized people in southern Mali through ethnomusicology. Our hope is that eventually you will teach the development of ethnic music to many people groups in Africa and that worship will increase and the church will grow because of it.

Responsibilities:

Learn French in France, then live in rural town setting, possibly study a second language. Learn and develop ethnomusicology skills and help nationals develop music for personal, church and media, including radio, use. Train nationals and personally take ethnic music to other peoples across Africa. Ethnomusicology is one of three proven and very effective outreach strategies. Both missionaries and nationals will coach you some but also give you lots of space to succeed through God’s leading and the Holy Spirit’s working.

Requirements:

Spiritually sensitive, growing in your relationship with the Lord, self-starter, friendly, willing to live in hot, at times humid and dusty conditions. At least a Bible College degree and some in ethnomusicology. Some experience helpful. Willing to grow, develop, learn and be stretched beyond what you could imagine, willing to travel, take risks, live in hard places, sleep out in villages, mix with the people. Only one national has ethnomusicology experience. This is an excellent opportunity to learn beginning rural Africa church planting through ethnomusicology.
