| Job Summary: |
Use your experience teaching English as a second language to teach at a center that offers English courses to local students and professionals. On average, 60 students are enrolled in the ESL program at various levels, and there are thousands more in the city planning to study foreign languages, particularly English. Current courses are: General and Business English and a Conversational English Club. We would like to add Technical English, Preparation for TOEFL etc. and provide ESL teaching also to corporations and educational institutions. |
|
| Responsibilities: |
This is a part-time position: 20 hours per week for week for singles, 20-30 hours together for couple. Time spent in studying local languages can in part be counted as part of this time contribution, particularly during the first year. Teach one ESL course (4 lessons = 3-4 classroom hours per week) in the first year and two courses from the second year onwards. Participate in placement tests of new students and in staff meetings (once or twice a month). Help in administrative aspects of running the program and get involved in an English Club for the development of the students’ conversational skills and deepening of relationships. Teachers have many opportunities to interact with bright young men and women, the future business and political leaders. They have the chance to share their values with them in low-key ways and, in addition to teaching them English, encourage them to develop their career skills, personal habits, moral values, and many other areas. Our English program, which was launched 15 years ago, has a high reputation, so we are looking for teachers who will continue this strong history.
