Ministry-at-a-Glance
Primary Ministry Focus Ministering to the Japanese church through discipleship and mobilization efforts, and to unbelievers through outreach ministries.
The People The Japanese people are polite and hospitable; usually, they prefer to avoid conflict and keep the peace rather than engage in any kind of confrontation. The two major religions are Shintoism and Buddhism.
Ministry Experience Greg ministered at Japanese Fellowship Church in Minneapolis. Since 1997, he has led the Japanese Evangelical Fellowship (JEF) ministry at Bethlehem Baptist in Minneapolis comprised of both small group and outreach elements. He has also assisted the cooperative effort of the Twin Cities Japanese Concert of Prayer. In addition to partnering with Greg in the JEF ministry, Asa has led a women’s Bible study for Japanese mothers. While in Japan, Asa was involved with children’s ministry and launched several youth ministry initiatives at the church.
