Ministry-at-a-Glance Primary Ministry Focus Church planting and evangelism in Dakar, Senegal.
The People Senegalese people are outgoing and friendly. There are over 20 different ethnic groups in Senegal, the Wolof people being the most dominate. The Newkirks are working with Wolof-speaking people, which include the Wolof and many other ethnic groups living in Dakar.
Major Challenges Since 92 percent of the Senegalese follow Islam, much of the Senegalese identity comes from being Muslim.
Prayer Focus Pray that the truth of Scripture will become evident. Pray that nationals will have the faith to be both Senegalese and Christians.
