Lives Spilled Out in Ink

These little note cards.  I've used them for physics equations in high school, greek verbs in college, phone numbers, notes, book marks, and paper airplanes when a proper explanation of the reformed doctrine of predestination eluded me in French (yeah, I know, like it's all that clear in English).

Well, now we all spill out our lives, in ink, every Tuesday Night.  We write prayer requests on one side and our name on the other, instigating mutual prayer for the upcoming week.  Martine's cards are usually on our bedroom mirror.  Mine are on my desk in the basement.

Just another way we try to bear one another's burdens in our small groups.

Hi there. This is Suzanne in the WV Central office. We met at RC in Jan, though you may not remember -- I received one of the note cards you brought then and prayed for someone's grandfather that week.

Anyway, two weekends ago I was in a wedding where several of the groomsmen and groom's friends were from Montreal. As I talked with them, I was astounded by 2 things: none of them had ever been to a wedding before (and they were all at least in their mid-20s) and for most of them, I was the first and only evangelical Christian they'd ever had a conversation with. This blew me away. Amidst the bouquets and bridesmaid dresses I was reminded of you and moved to pray for your ministry in Quebec.

Thanks so much for ther prayer Suzanne.  We are very much in need of it.

There are young people in Quebec who are married, but most of them view marriage simply as a piece of paper.  Their logic is that they don't need a piece of paper to say that they love someone.

Of course, we know that marriage is so much more than a piece of paper.  I would marry Martine whether or not the state had anything to do with it.

Anyway, we pray that over the next couple of years that we will begin to see significant fruit from the sowing and prayer that is going on now.
