The church staff and mission team worked hard to make this a wonderful time of worship, prayer and exhortation. The church was joined in person and in letter by pastors of other supporting churches, local WorldVenture staff, as well as some of our individual supporters, all of whom encouraged us more than they probably know. How blessed we are to have such a wonderful set of partners! Really, we can't communicate enough how confident we feel because we know we have all of you here at home!

You guys are crazy!

A recent comment from Chris, our mentor. It's not the first time we've heard it. We're crazy, we must be. In the midst of packing to leave the country and what seems to be a million other things going all at once, we drove to Seattle and hopped on a flight to Moloka'i. It was only two weeks before that we decided to take the trip. At first we didn't think it would work- how could we possibly afford it? Amazingly enough the airline had a miles sale and so we were able to get one free ticket- there's also a fare war going on, so it cost us less to fly across the ocean, than it would to fly just about anywhere else in the country! Traveling with Sofia is a new adventure as she is beginning to take off walk/running. We met many new "friends" on the plane during our nearly six hour flight. Once we arrived in Moloka'i we were warmly welcomed and slammed with a bit of culture shock all at once. How easily we forget! There is no place like Moloka'i, things happen in unique ways on this island. Within thirty minutes of our arrival we had run into five people we knew- three while in the car and stopped to chat in the middle of the road- don't worry, we didn't hold up too much traffic, the one car that came behind us drove around! We do have to say that this was an amazing trip. It was so clear to us that it was God's perfect timing as we met with different friends, and had time to be with our supporting church Moloka'i Baptist. We had so many "God" moments while we were there whether it was converstation, new interest in support or encouragement from others who are ministering there on Molokai. And of course, we kept hearing "welcome home." It is a wonderful thing to feel loved and wanted! How blessed we are to have had the opportunity to go back one last time, and so thankful that God truly is sovreign, and that He cares so deeply for us as He so clearly reminded us on our short trip.

Our new travel buddy

Well, its been quite a ride since appointment in June, especially with the addition of our new little one Sofia. We've been out and about and everywhere it seems since she has been born, leaving no chance for an resemblence of routine or schedule- it's ok, we'll sleep sometime in the next 20 or so years! We're visiting friends in Hawaii now, a couple of churches and reconnecting with our former students. What an exciting locale for partner development. The Lord has been so gracious to us and we are so encouraged with support discovery going well and smoothly. We wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas or Mele Kalikimaka as they say here in the islands.

Blessings to you all.
