A Mission Strategy Coach can help guide your church and ease the burden on your missions team. Basics A Missions Strategy Coach is a seasoned advisor who will come alongside your church and help plan and implement your missions strategy. Your coach can go through the Design Your Impact Workshop with you and be a long-term partner. Why a Coach Leading a church's missions strategy can be a lot of work-often more than a staff person has time for and enough to overwhelm a volunteer leader. A coach can help ease that burden. They will help focus and accelerate your church's mission work. They can answer questions and give direction, help define goals and come up with practical next steps. What the Coach Will Do: Facilitate you and your missions team through the Design Your Impact Workshop Commit to working alongside your church for the next six months to help you implement your strategy. Meet with you regularly to keep up to date on your church's progress, ideally face to face. Pray for your efforts. Encourage your missions team to overcome obstacles to reach your goals. Be a sounding board as your missions team wrestles with issues and creates a strategy. Be a link between your church and WorldVenture, connecting you to a wealth of resources. Keep a broad perspective. WorldVenture is eager to be a primary partner with your church, but the work of God is more important. If other ministry partners are a better fit, your coach can help you in those areas as well. Avoid taking on the responsibility of making your church's plan happen. That's your job. Your coach will help you "play the game" better than you could on your own. Who serve as WorldVenture Mission Coaches? All WorldVenture Mission Coaches are volunteers with experience in missions work. They could be retired missionaries or business personnel who traveled overseas and have a heart for missions. But all coaches will who understand the inner workings of a church, the issues facing a missions program, and can help your missions team drive your strategy.
